| Whitewater rafting is the sport to test one's courage. There are plenty of challenges of different classes particularly in the state of Sabah where rafting down rivers with foaming, turbulent rapids is a challenge sought by both locals and visitors. Sabah's large number of fast flowing rivers, coupled with her scenic splendours and pristine jungles guarantee hours of "adrenaline pumping" roller-coaster rides; The Padas River and the Kiulu River are two of the challenging rivers.
The best time to raft is after rains when the water level has risen and there are some good rapids. However, the dry season is a good time for rafting novices to get acquainted with the sport without having to fight the currents. The rafting expeditions usually take between 45 minutes to two hours depending on the water level.
